Asphalt Sealer Benefits

Asphalt Sealer Benefits

Benefits of Asphalt Sealer
1. Sealer resists the damaging effects of gas and oil seepage and all other road chemicals, including gas, oil and salt.
2. Sealer prevents the damaging effects of oxidation and water penetration. It is known that the accumulation of moisture in pavement structures is the greatest cause of pavement distress.
3. The sun’s ultraviolet rays harden and dry out the asphalt pavement surface. This accelerates raveling and erosion, and can reduce asphalt thickness in just a few years.
4. Sealer restores original black color to asphalt and greatly enhances the overall appearance of property. Accordingly, the smooth, even pavement surface makes sweeping, snow removal and maintenance easier and less costly.
Commonly Asked Questions
Q. What is asphalt and why should I consider it for my roadway project?
A. Asphalt is a petroleum-based product used for driveways, roads, cart/walking paths, and any project that requires a smooth surface for foot traffic or motorized vehicles. It is easily and inexpensively maintained and is aesthetically pleasing.
Q. What maintenance is required to maintain my asphalt?
A. For asphalt parking lots and driveways, we usually recommend sealing new asphalt within the first year and crack filling annually to prevent moisture from reaching the base material.
Q. How is the surface prepared before a job?
A. All surfaces are prepared by thoroughly removing all of the dirt and debris by the use of air blast machinery sweepers, which are highly pressurized for maximum cleaning.
Q. If we have our lot resurfaced, will you replace the pavement markings?
A. All pavement markings, parking lines and stripes will be replaced as instructed, or restored to the previous form with Department of Transportation approved paint.
Q. Can all surfaces be repaved?
A. In most instances, yes. Bad oil and grease stains can be coated with top tough petro seal. Badly saturated pavement can only be repaired properly by removal.
